President Hurd is launching a far-reaching initiative, titled “Infrastructure of Opportunity,” that will look to strengthen key aspects of the College’s life that play a direct role in student success.
Aspects of the effort include improving faculty and staff hiring and compensation; creating a campus master plan; strengthening and expanding student support services; examining Lafayette’s mission, vision and values; revising the Common Course of Study; promoting effective shared governance and broader involvement in critical decisions such as budgetary allocations; and accelerating efforts addressing diversity, equity and inclusion.
In partnership with Student Government and supported by the Faculty Committee on Student Life, the President and her leadership team adopted a strategy to raise the floor for student minimum wages. Read more.
